A video signal is dened as a standardized signal for transmitting
image information from the camera to the monitor or to the
recording device. The possible image transmission standards are BAS
and FBAS signal. BAS is the signal for B/W images, and FBAS signal has
an additional signal for the colour information.
The abbreviation BAS/FBAS stands for:
F - colour information (chrominance)
B - image information, brightness information (luminance)
A - blanking signal (blanking) during the line and screen change
S - synchronous pulse for the line and screen change
With the composite video signal (FBAS), all of the image data (colour
information, image information, blanking signal and synchronization
signal) are transmitted in one line - without any audio signal.
Composite (FBAS) signals are transmitted via coaxial cables and are
supported by nearly all video devices. Thus, a high performance
video connection can be established at any time.
